Event Fee
The participation fee for this summer school is approximately €450 per participant, which includes lodging, breakfast, and lunch. Please consider this before pre-registering.

Grants
Grants are available to support early career researchers (ECRs) from the US, France, South America and low-income countries.
Grants may include:
- Waived registration fees
- For ECRs based outside Europe, travel expenses may also be covered
If you wish to apply for a grant, please indicate this when you complete your pre-registration form.

Registration Process
Step 1 – Pre-registration (Deadline: May 10, 2026)
Fill out the pre-registration form. At this stage, you will also need to provide:
- A short CV (~5 lines)
- A statement of your motivation to attend the workshop and how your attendance will create new opportunities for your ongoing and future research
- Indicate whether you plan to participate in the field trip, as this is crucial for planning
⚠ Important: Your pre-registration will only be considered complete once Step 2 (Abstract Submission) has also been completed.
Step 2 – Abstract Submission (Deadline: May 10, 2026)
Along with your pre-registration, please submit your abstract for one of the four thematic sessions. Contributions can be either a talk or a poster, while keynote presentations are by invitation only. Participants are also welcome to submit a proposal for a practical tutorial, such as a coding or data analysis workshop on a specific topic.
Please note that each contribution must be submitted separately using the abstract submission form. If you wish to propose both a scientific contribution (talk or poster) and a tutorial, you will need to submit two separate forms.
All submissions must be completed by May 10, 2026.
Step 3 – Participant Selection and Acceptance (Notification: June 5, 2026)
After the abstract deadline, the organizing committee will review all submissions. Selected participants will receive an acceptance notification by June 5, 2026. Only then will your participation in the Cargèse 2026 School on Subduction Processes be confirmed.
The Cargèse IESC can accommodate a maximum of 100 participants. Therefore, the organizing committee may need to select participants based on: motivation or/and relevance of your research to the summer school’s themes.
Step 4 – Final Registration
Once you have been accepted to the Cargèse 2026 School on Subduction Processes, you will be redirected to the IESC website for final registration.
On the IESC site, you will need to:

Provide your flight details (arrival and departure times)

Provide lodging details (expected check-in, etc.)
- Indicate any special meal requirements (e.g., vegan or vegetarian)
