Field trip in the fossil subduction zone in Alpine Corsica

The number of participants to the field trip will be limited to 30 people because it is too complicated to manage a larger group in the small roads of Corsica.

Program
Saturday 7th of October:
meeting of participants:
- at 10am at Bastia international airport, in front of ADA car rental : meeting point airport
- or at 11am downtown Bastia, place saint nicolas:
Noon: Overview of Corsica Island geological structure at Col de Teghime; bring your picnic for lunch; afternoon: Lancone Gorge cross-section: pieces of subducted Tethys seafloor and their meaning for subduction zone processes; night in a hotel in Saint Florent;
Sunday 8th of October: morning: the fate of a continental margin entering a subduction zone: the Tenda massif; afternoon: trip to Cargèse conference center (3h30) across the Variscan granitic basement from Corsica
